From March 17 to 21, 2024, the NVIDIA GTC will take place in San Jose, California. Coinciding with the AI developer conference, Syslogic is offering embedded systems equipped with the latest member of the NVIDIA Jetson™ platform for edge AI and robotics, the Jetson AGX Orin™ system on module. The compact module offers up to 275 TOPS of AI processing power and a choice of 32GB or 64GB of RAM. Power consumption is scalable from 15 to 60 watts. The unique combination of a powerful CPU and an NIVIDIA Ampere architecture GPU opens the door to a new generation of autonomous machines and vehicles.

Syslogic rugged computer - for use in vehicles and mobile robots

As a Preferred member oft the NVIDIA Partner Network, Syslogic ensures that the concentrated power of NVIDIA Jetson is also available in vehicles, mobile machines and robots. The Rugged Computer RSL A4AGX and the double-deck Rugged Computer RML A4AGX are now available. Both embedded systems are certified for a temperature range of –25 to +60 degrees Celsius and are IP67/IP69 rated.

Syslogic’s rugged computers act as an AI unit to combine computer vision applications with CUDA, neural networks, sensors and robotics. The Jetson AGX Orin features an NIVIDIA Ampere architecture GPU, deep learning capabilities and vision accelerators. Combined with the included NVIDIA AI software, Syslogic’s rugged computers offer a comprehensive package. The NVIDIA software includes modules for robotics applications, intelligent vision applications, and conversational and generative AI. This enables new AI applications to be brought to market in record time.

Syslogic combines the NVIDIA module with its own carrier board, which is designed to withstand high levels of shock and vibration. To protect the electronics from moisture, water and dust, the rugged computers have a robust aluminium housing and screwable M12 connectors. In addition, a GORE ventilation element provides pressure compensation inside the units. This makes the rugged computers some of the most durable NVIDIA Jetson-based devices in the world.

Rugged Computer RSL A4AGX and RML A4AGX

The Rugged Computer RSL A4AGX and the Rugged Computer RML A4AGX are designed from the ground up for vehicles, autonomous machines and robots. Their interface layout allows them to connect to a wide range of sensors. The RML A4AGX has eight GMSL2 camera inputs and four Ethernet interfaces via Power over Ethernet (PoE).

Syslogic embedded systems are often combined with stereo cameras from the specialist Stereolabs. Syslogic has recently entered into a partnership with this company. In addition to stereo cameras, Syslogic’s rugged computers can be coupled with other sensors such as lidar or radar. The systems can also be connected to a vehicle’s bus system via CAN, and real time kinematic (RTK) is optionally available using multi-band GNSS. This enables vehicles and machines to be located or positioned with centimetre-level accuracy.

Syslogic rugged computers are widely used in mobile robots, construction machinery, agricultural, mining and special vehicles, as well as in trains. Michael Jung, Product Manager at Syslogic, says: “Syslogic rugged computers are known worldwide for their robustness and reliability. With Jetson AGX Orin-powered performance, the possibilities for new intelligent vision applications are almost inexhaustible.”
