The fanless embedded box PCs in the Compact XS Series are among the smallest embedded computers on the market. The Compact 4 XS box PC version is equipped with a Vortex86DX processor. The Vortex processor has been developed specifically for embedded applications. The highly-integrated processor architecture combines all of the main processor functions on a single chip, which has an extremely positive effect on energy consumption of the embedded box PC and results in a long service life.
The maintenance-free box PCs in the Compact XS Series can be configured with a wide range of interfaces, including Ethernet, EtherCAT, RS-232 and RS-485. Additionally, the box PCs can also be combined with common field bus systems such as PROFIBUS, PROFINET, CAN etc. Windows CE, Windows Embedded Standard, DOS or Linux are suitable for use as operating systems.
